Who are we?

We are people from diverse backgrounds and professions whose lives have been directly touched by cancer. We are healthy people, cancer survivors, cancer patients, caregivers, scientists, doctors, researchers, advocates and concerned community volunteers. Most of us have lost family or friends to cancer. All of us are dedicated to helping others fight this terrible disease.

What makes us different from other organizations?

The Cancer Cure Coalition is completely independent; it is not a part of any other institution or affiliated with any medical center or scientific research entity. We are not selling anything. We do not make any money from the marketing of cancer products or medical services. We are strictly non-commercial, non-governmental and not-for-profit. We survive thanks to charitable donations and volunteer labor. We ask for donations in order to be able to continue our work, and even enhance the scope and depth our programs.

What sort of cancer information do we provide?

We are dedicated to finding the most reliable, accurate and helpful information regarding the treatment and prevention of cancer. We are open-minded to considering alternative, complimentary and traditional (natural) medicine; as well as to the latest, cutting-edge treatments that modern science is producing. We explore, and to the best of our abilities, evaluate both types of approaches. Our evaluation is based upon the criteria of: What works? What are the side effects? What are the risks? What are the benefits? How much does it cost? and How does one get access to a treatment?

How can patients and caregivers use our scientific information?

We share information gleaned from our research in simple, clear and plain language because we want to empower people by helping them to understand:

- the full-range of existing treatment options

- how they fight cancer

- what effect they have on the body as a whole

With this knowledge, patients and their caregivers can better communicate with medical doctors in exploring and choosing the best treatment in a specific case of cancer. Empowered patients and caregivers actively participate with the physicians in making medical decisions, which contributes to better quality care and increased personal control over choices that have a great impact on one’s quality of life.
