Mr. Charles Anthony Reinwald, age 85, passed away due to prostate cancer on June 2, 2011 at the Hospice of Palm Beach Gardens.

Charles lived in Scarsdale for forty-five years, 1964-2004, until he moved to Jupiter Island, Florida.

He was born in 1925, in Flushing Queens, New York, to the late Charles Anthony Reinwald, Sr. and Estella Mary Brake Reinwald. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Anne, and three children: Charles, Jr. and his wife Sarah; Lisa Silverman and her husband Robert; and, Andrea Dabbar and her husband Paul, along with a sister, Shirley R. Johnson, and five grandchildren: Andrew, David and Samantha Silverman and William and Katherine Dabbar.

Charles graduated from Yale University in 1946 from the Navy officer training program during World War II and also majored in history. He received his law degree from NYU Law school in 1949. He was an attorney for many years and an investor. He thought his most important work was done after his retirement. When both he and his wife were diagnosed with cancer in 1999, he founded a not-for-profit organization, The Cancer Cure Coalition, dedicated to the cure and prevention of cancer. The foundation made efforts in patient advocacy, including hosting a free conference, and sponsoring journalistic research published on a web site. Charles was outspoken in statements in favor of FDA reform. He continued his work with stock investing, surveying new cancer treatments and working on a book on cancer treatments not completed, as well as managing the Cancer Cure Coalition as long as his health permitted.

He participated in various organizations including the Scarsdale American Legion, the Free Masons and participated in local government. He enjoyed chess and participated in chess clubs and tournaments, winning the Westchester Chess Club Championship in 2009 and attaining the rank of chess master. He was an avid reader all his life with broad interests. He occasionally attended meetings of the Religious Society of Friends.

Charles will be remembered as caring, genuine and brilliant. He always had a smile and a story to tell.

Welcome to the Cancer Cure Coalition

The purpose of the Cancer Cure Coalition is to share our collective knowledge and vast experience in the treatment and prevention of cancer.
Our goal is to help save people's lives. We offer suggestions to aid the sick in finding successful treatments or to guide them to other sources of useful information that might lead to a potential cure for their illness. If there is no cure, we can still educate people truthfully about available treatment options and provide them with choices that allow them to live the rest of their lives as best they can. We also provide valuable information about the role of lifestyle in preventing cancer and maintaining good health.
